A Wiltshire-based provider of donation processing systems for the not-for-profit sector has been acquired by its management team from private equity firm Livingbridge.
The Valldata management team has completed a buyout of Valldata Services Ltd (VSL) and Charity Pay Ltd and secured additional funding to support continued investment in technology.
Livingbridge invested £6.5m in Valldata in 2011, supporting a previous management buyout of the database management and marketing business.
To facilitate the deal, KPMG’s restructuring team, led by Chris Pole and Will Wright, was appointed as administrator over holding company Valldata Group Ltd.
The company emphasised that its 175 staff were unaffected and there had been no change to any of its client engagements.
Valldata chief executive Greg Michael said: “Over the last 12 months the not-for-profit sector has had to respond to the challenges of greater scrutiny from politicians and the media, increased regulation and demands for greater compliance and transparency.
“As a leading supplier to the sector, Valldata is pro-actively investing for the future so that we can continue to provide services that are high quality, responsive, secure and compliant. We have already done a lot to achieve this objective: we have restructured the business, refined our account management structure, recruited business analysts, appointed Marlborough consulting to support clients and made major investments in technology.
“We need to continue to invest further in technology to help our current and future clients reduce their administration costs and maximise their fundraising.”
Valldata is a partner for charities and other organisations, helping them manage and deliver fundraising campaigns as well as providing outsourced services to more than 50 of the largest UK charities.
The group reported turnover of £9.2m in its 2014/15 accounts.
