The top company in the region is Swindon-based telecoms services provider Ubiquisys, which is at number 12 in the top 100. The business, which has made it onto the table for the first time, is backed by Advent Venture Partners and Atlas Venture.

Other companies making the list are Dorset-based New Earth Solutions, which topped Insider‘s Growth 100 earlier this year; Smart Traffic, a Bristol-based digital marketing agency; Chippenham-based communications systems provider Solar Communications; oilfield equipment manufacturer Centek which is headquartered in Newton Abbot; and Bristol-based IT development consultancy Mosaic Island.

The Tech Track 100 league table and awards programme is sponsored by Hiscox and Barclays, and compiled by Fast Track.

Steve Langan, managing director of Hiscox UK and Ireland, said: “Just as London 2012 will inspire young athletes, so too should the stories behind these Tech Track companies inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

“Brainy, tenacious and above all hard working, these privately-owned businesses deserve every bit of recognition for their important contribution to our economy.”

Other companies named on the list include entertainment trader Music Magpie and content recognition services provider Shazam.
