Cricklade-based GWP Group is one of about 350 suppliers on the framework agreement which allows UK public sector organisations to source suppliers in specialist areas.
GWP said that as previous framework formats have result in spending of more than £295m on 1,100 tasks, there is “great potential” for the company to benefit.
David Pedley, group chief executive officer, said: “The agreement is a great opportunity for GWP.
“The defence sector presents a number of unique and distinct challenges – the whole procurement process is under a high level of public scrutiny and there is a continual pressure to realise value in regards to time, cost and quality while maintaining the highest standards of security and reliability.
“Our protective division has produced packaging for the defence industry for many years and our expertise and experience has helped us win this valuable place that will benefit the whole of the company.”
GWP Group, which previously traded as The Great Western Packaging Company, relaunched in January 2009. It employs more than 100 members of staff at locations in Cricklake, Wootton Bassett and Salisbury.
