Mudie-Bond’s truck and van dealerships in Kidderminster, Oxford and Brackley and its 133 employees have now transferred to Rygor Commercials as part of the deal, which was completed for an undisclosed sum.
Mudie-Bond was founded in 1987 by Richard Bond and Mike Mudie, who are now both retiring.
Devizes-based Wansbroughs Solicitors provided legal advice to Rygor Commercials, a team at Baker Tilly in Bristol undertook due diligence and funding for the acquisition was secured from the corporate team at Barclays South West in Bristol.
Sam Whittaker, Mercedes-Benz UK truck sales and marketing director said: “Customers, and indeed employees, of Mudie-Bond can rest assured that this seamless transfer of ownership will leave them in the very safest of hands; in fact, I have no doubt that the best is yet to come from the new-look Rygor Commercials.”
Rygor Commercials managing director Tim Stacy said: “Geographically, the marriage of these two businesses makes great commercial sense, as Mudie-Bond’s area of responsibility was immediately adjacent to our own.
“It means that we’re now in a position to serve customers along the M5 and extended sections of the M40 corridors, as well as the M4.”
Rygor Commercials has facilities in Chilcompton, Heathrow, Reading, Newbury, Salisbury and Swindon as well as its head office in Westbury.
